Massage

In todays fast, stressful, technological society massage provides a welcome opportunity to receive touch - and nurturing - which are in themselves therapeutic. Swedish massage is suitable for all age groups, and can be of benefit in the management of most illnesses. The use of selected essential oils adds to the efficacy of massage.

Rei-ki

Rei-ki, which literally translates from the Japanese as ‘universal life-force’, is the simplest art of life energy renewal. It induces inner-calm, enhances wellbeing and enthusiasm for life, as well as renewing one’s sense of purpose. There are no exercises, special breathing or words to be learnt. Transmitted through the hands of the practitioner, the flow of Rei-ki energy is perceived in a variety of ways: heat, chill, tingling, pulsing or vibrations are some of the ways in which people may experience it. As the energy transfer begins, your brainwave patterns slow down to the meditational level of 8-10 Hz (alpha wave state) – the natural rhythm of the universe. Rei-ki is a valuable tool which helps relieve pain, reduce swelling, calm the mind, restore functions, relax the body and many other benefits. Rei-ki has been demonstrated on medical monitoring equipment to enhance uptake of oxygen in the blood by up to 30 percent.

Yoga

Yoga the sanskrit word for "union" is a practice that uses posture and breathing techniques to induce relaxation and improve strength, and it's health benefits may surpass those of any other activity.The healing benefits of yoga are fantastic, so much that you start to feel great as soon as you start the breathing and the movements.Yoga enables you to take a step into deep self-knowledge, which helps you to experience and enjoy total relaxation.Yoga improves one's understanding of life and changes one's perspective, you begin to look at things from a different viewpoint, less confused, improved health and fitness, more peace of mind and an ever- growing sense of overall well-being.

There are 7 main energy centres in the body known as chakras. Each chakra is located in our subtle body. Blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to mental/emotional issues, as well as presenting in a physical form. Since the Chakras receive and transmit energy (which translates into psychic, emotional and physical energy) too much or too little may effect the way we think, act and feel; for instance, too little flow through the Heart Chakra could translate into a “hard hearted” and selfish personality, and too much flow through the Heart Chakra could translate into a person with a “bleeding heart”, someone who’s generous compassion can easily be taken advantage of. 
Clearing of these chakras will bring about balance of body and mind, physical wellness, thus enhancing our lives in all ways.

Reflexology

Chi Kung (Qigong)

Easy! Easy! Easy! Beautiful movements yet profoundly effective, Chi Kung is a system of self-healing based on the 6000 year old philosophy of Taoism. The exercises are a series of soft, graceful, fluid and harmonious movements which activate and energise the body’s internal systems. The main object of Chi Kung is training the mind, breath and physical movements by following the natural flow of energy through the meridian pathways (energy channels). These easily performed exercises can and will produce profound effects in the body when practiced on a regular basis, preventing or alleviating chronic ailments, reversing or slowing down the ageing process as well as developing an inner sense of alertness and vitality. After all, power and strength should increase with age, not deteriorate as we are so often lead to believe.

Flower Essences

Flower essences are prepared from the flowers of plants, shrubs and trees. They are prescribed for states of mind rather than physical illnesses. As many diseases have their origin in chronic mental and/or emotional distress, this art can do much to begin the healing process on the deepest level. There is a wide range of remedies for various types of depression, anxiety, fear, anger, and worry. We use the Australian Bush Flower Essences.

EFT Tapping

The technique, which involves tapping acupressure points on the head and hands, is showing promise as an effective form of therapy for anxiety, depression and anger. It is also known as the emotional freedom technique (EFT).
